The preparation for Lady Gaga's comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards was documented and shared on social media Monday.

Gaga's friend, the famed photographer Terry Richardson, documented all that went into "Mother Monster" prepping for her big comeback on Aug. 25. He shared almost a dozen pictures on his Tumblr and Twitter.

One of the images shows Gaga putting on her black Prabal Gurung gown she wore on the red carpet. The stunning dress with the floor-sweeping train helped put the singer on Best Dressed lists. He called the picture, "Gaga getting ready for the red carpet."

Gaga is topless and nude for the some of the images where she is seen stretching, trying various makeup and while getting a professional massage.

The New York-bred performer's act was well-received by the audience, but some fans were confused by the sounds of boos that were heard. Gaga would later reveal to One Direction that she had the boos played in the audio as a part of her performance for Applause. She shared the news when the British boy band received mixed reviews from the audience.

According to Britian's Mirror, after her performance, Gaga had to comfort boy band One Direction backstage after they accepted their award. The British boy band was reportedly booed when they appeared on stage to collect their award for Best Song Of The Summer.

Gaga reportedly told the boys backstage, "Don't you dare let those people boo you. If I did hear what I heard out there, I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have."

"I want to leave right now. I don't want to stay because I don't want to be in a room where people are booing," she said.
