After waiting seemingly forever to find out just who would land the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, fans finally got what they've been waiting for as Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were revealed to be the lucky two.

While the news certainly certainly satisfied some fans, there were clearly well over a handful of E.L James loyalists who were disappointed with how the casting ultimately unfolded.

One of the fans was pulling for Ian Somerhalder, who seemed to be one of the leading candidates for a majority of the speculation period.

"I wanted Ian Somerhalder for Christian Grey. Was undecided about who should play Ana but Dakota Johnson isn't like the picture in my head," said Bedlam_maid said via Digital Spy forum.

Another Fifty Shades fan admitted that she didn't fancy Sons of Anarchy's Hunnam, and she wasn't too sold on 21 Jump Street's Johnson either.

"I'm a bit disappointed..I don't find Christian attractive. Not sure about Ana either." -sonhzi said via Twitter.

Altthough most people took to social networking to voice their disapprovals, there were a few fans who weren't as harsh.

"I will wait and reserve judgement. I can't help but feel the moment has passed already for this film - are we all really going to care now?!" -June Bailey said on Facebook.

Fifty Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who's currently working on the script, said that she'd be staying true to the content of author E.L. James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. The highly anticipated movie is slated to launch on the big screen on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2014. Be sure to check back for more of the latest info on the film.
