LeVar Burton is returning to guest star on Community in season 5 after appearing on the show in season 2.

Burton announced he would be returning to Community on his Twitter page Monday, posting a photo of himself and Donald Glover, who plays Troy. The actor tweeted, "Romping through Greendale with @DonaldGlover #bydhttmwfi" with the photo.

Burton first appeared on the show as himself in season 2 in the episode Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking. Pierce (Chevy Chase) ordered Burton to come to the school as a gift for Troy. Burton, star of such classics as Star Trek: The Next Generation and Reading Rainbow, is Troy's idol.

Burton is one of many guest actors returning to the sitcom for season 5. Enstars previously reported the return of John Oliver as Professor Ian Duncan and Rob Corddry as lawyer Alan Connor. Guest stars who will be making their Community debut next season include Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad) as a criminology professor and Walton Goggins (Justified) as the mysterious Mr. Stone.

Community Season 5 Spoilers: 'Big Changes' Ahead for Main Characters?

There is no information on why Burton is returning to the show in season 5 but it may have to do with Glover's impending exit from the sitcom. Glover will only be appearing in five episodes next season before leaving to pursue his rapping career. The rest of the main cast is expected to appear except for Chase, who asked to be let go of his contract at the end of season 4.

Season 5 of Community does not have a scheduled premiere date yet, but it is expected to premiere at some point in the 2013-2014 TV season on NBC.
