Although Vogue might have ditched Miley Cyrus from featuring her on its cover, the October issue of Harper's Bazaar's gave her the opportunity to strut her stuff.

Editor-in-chief, Anna Wintnour, allegedly dropped the plan of featuring the 20-year-old on the cover of Vogue after Cyrus' controversial performance at the MTV VMAs. Cyrus had already been photographed for the magazine's December issue. "Anna found the whole thing distasteful,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

Cyrus isn't channeling any craziness on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, she looks svelte in a chic black dress with her blond hair slicked over in a sophisticated do.

Cyrus tweeted the image of the cover on Sept. 16, tagging the photographer of the shoot ("@harpersbazaarus @Terry_World ❤❤❤") Terry Richardson, who also directed her wildly successful video for the song Wrecking Ball. The song is currently topping most of the popular music charts. And Cyrus hasn't been shy about celebrating her success, announcing it on Twitter:

"#1 on Billboard. #1 on iTunes. #1 on Spotify. #1 on Streaming. #1 on Digital songs. #1 most added to pop radio. #1 on VEVO. #WreckingBall"❤"

Cyrus and Richardson also teamed up for a couture shoot for Harper's Bazaar in August.

Cyrus has metamorphosed from a doe-eyed, lustrous-haired, teenager straight out of the sunny Disney franchise into a rebel child wearing short hair. She's now a sexy diva with rough edges.

Enstars put together some of Cyrus' best magazine covers -- which capture her drastic makeover -- over the years, from a cherubic teenager nervously smiling for the camera for Creme magazine in 2008 to her no-holds-barred, punk avatar on the cover of Elle in 2013.
