Christina Aguilera's song We Remain for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack was released on Monday and it's quite empowering.

"Yeah we know it, it hasn't been for nothing cause we'll never let it slow us down, no we'll never let it slow us down," she sings.

While she recorded the song specifically for the movie, the vocal powerhouse said the ballad also holds a special meaning to her.

"Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames. "We Remain" is special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike," Aguilera tweeted about her song.

This isn't the first time Aguilera has sung about perseverance. Her popular 2003 single Fighter was just as empowering as We Remain. The lyrics include, "Makes me that much stronger. Makes me work a little bit harder. It makes me that much wiser. So thanks for making me a fighter."

Other artists featured on the soundtrack are The Weeknd, Mikky Ekko, Ellie Goulding, The Lumineers and Sia. Coldplay was also the first to release a song from the album, titled Atlas, earlier in September.

The film's director, Francis Lawrence, previously expressed his appreciation for Coldplay's contribution to the movie.

"I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film," he said in a statement. "Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can't wait to share this music with audiences around the world."

The second Hunger Games film focuses on District 12's Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) who embark on their victory tour. As they travel through the other districts, they realize the impact their actions have made.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire comes to U.S. theaters on Nov. 22. Fans can pre-order the soundtrack now before its Nov. 19 release.
