Cadillac Escalade: 2015 Release: Model's Interior & Exterior Unveiled; Increased Horsepower & Smoother Look [VIDEO & Details]
Cadillac officially unveiled its 2015 Escalade on Tuesday, revealing a softer look compared to previous Escalade SUVs.
The new Cadillac Escalade was introduced at a special event in New York City, revealing that the SUV will have an increase in horsepower and torque. The 2015 Escalade has 420 horsepower (compared to the current 403) and 460 lb.-ft. of torque (compared to the current 417 lb.-ft.).
"The 2015 Escalade is completely new and elevated in design and technology," said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president of global Cadillac, at the event. "The clear objective is to once again assume the leadership position among luxury SUVs."
The new Escalade will ride on a stiffer frame while utilizing high-strength steel and better body mounts, according to Cadillac. These features will result in a quieter and smooth ride compared to previous models.
There will also be a fold-flat third row of seating with authentic wood and suede trimming in its interior. An increase of 1.5 inches to the front headroom was also announced and legroom will increase by four inches.
Production on the new line is expected to begin in spring 2014 at which point pricing may also be announced.
The 2015 Escalade is expected to arrive in late 2015.
