HTC One Max Release Date Rumors, Specs & Price Claims About Newest ‘Phablet’ [VIDEO]
HTC is reportedly planning on launching their One Max device in Asian markets on Oct. 15 and while some new features are intriguing, others appear to be puzzling for consumers.
The newest entry into the phone-tablet hybrid, or 'phablet' field, the HTC One Max is a fairly super-sized addition to the company's line of aluminum smartphones weighing in at 217 grams with 164.5 x 82.5 x 10.29mm in total size.
The phone's feature include a 5.9-inch full HD 1080p display, HTC's trademark BoomSound and Sense Voice. There are also five different sensors on the phone: a Gyro sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor and a new Fingerprint Scanner, the last being similar to the one Apple recently unveiled on their new iPhone 5S.
Both a rear and front camera featuring 1080p Full HD Video recording and 2.1 MP are present on the phone, and the front camera also has an 88 degree wide angle lens. The camera app has HTZ Zoe with Sequence Shot, Always Smile and Object Removal options; a gallery with video highlights, HTC Share, continuous shooting, VideoPic and slow motion video recording with variable speed playback.
The phone IS equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and 1.7GHz quadcore CPUs, 16 GB/32GB Storage with 2 GB Ram and an Expansion Card Slot, as well as Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5 and HTC BlinkFeed Software Platforms.
Noted by CNET is the puzzling removable back cover but no options to remove the 3300 mAh battery, which can provide anywhere between 25-28 hours of talk time or 393-585 hours of stand time.
No price point has been confirmed yet but Techradar claimed the phablet will have a hefty price tag of $800. The Verge noted it should be slated for a mid-November release in the U.S., right on time for the holiday rush.
