Her fans have waited a long time but Beyonce may release some new music in December, according to New York Daily News.

"Many in the music industry have gotten intel that Beyoncé will put out a single in the fourth quarter, some time from late November to early December," a source told the publication. "It's an official single and it's timed perfectly to push out all the others. It will be out before the end of the year."

Beyonce reportedly wants to release music to compete against her industry competitors. Britney Spears' Britney Jean hits stores on Dec. 3, Lady Gaga's ARTPOP album will be released on Nov. 8, Katy Perry's Prism on Oct. 22 and Miley Cyrus' Bangerz recently hit stores.

Mariah Carey's The Art Of Letting Go is also expected for release sometime soon and the album's next single will debut Nov. 11.

Beyonce has been working on the follow-up to her 2011 album 4 for some time now. Blue Ivy's mom has been in the studio with Ne-Yo, Ryan Tedder, The-Dream, Greg Kurstin and Sia. The 31-year-old has reportedly been working on the upcoming release since last summer and recorded a lot of the material in The Hamptons, N.Y..
