While the drama continues between Joe Jonas and his fellow brothers and bandmates, Jonas Brothers, he made a quick statement about rumors of the group splitting up.

"I'm not going to talk about that right now," the singer told People at the gala opening of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

He wasn't totally standoffish and isn't giving up on music just yet. He told the publication that he's doing more behind-the-scenes work as a producer, but didn't confirm which musical artists he works with. However, he did reveal what talent he wants to tap into next: "I think acting would be fun. I would like to [get into that]."

He might be pretty focused on his career altogether considering he also admitted he doesn't have much of a social life.

"I don't really go out that much in L.A.-- a bit more in New York."

The Jonas Brothers made headlines when they cancelled their highly anticipated 19 show tour on Oct. 10, just one day before it was to kick off in Upper Darby, Penn.

A rep for the group, Jesse Derris, released a statement and said, "There is a deep rift within the band. There was a disagreement over their music direction."

This launched a rumor mill that the boy band was breaking up because of shocking news that Joe was allegedly battling drug abuse, Star magazine reported. A source told the publication, "[Joe has] been dealing with substance abuse issues for quite some time. [His friends and family] have been begging him to seek help."

Speculations circulated even further after the band's Twitter account was deactivated on Wednesday.
