Eminem spoke about his upcoming album with Rolling Stone and explained that The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be reminiscent of his old sound. He also said he's working diligently to put together the best record he can.

"So there's not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that," he told the magazine in the November issue. "To me, it's more about the vibe, and it's more about the nostalgia."

Eminem Tour Dates in Australia & New Zealand

Although The Marshall Mathers LP 2 hits stores on Nov. 5., Eminem said that the final mixes are still not finished. But, the 41-year-old said he's "working harder" than he's ever worked before to put it together. He wants his followup to 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP to live up to expectations since many deem the prequel his best record to date.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 Tracklist

"Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations," he said. "I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs - and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like, 'F--k, man! I feel like it needs this or that,' to paint the whole picture."

The rapper also discussed the privilege of working with Rick Rubin, who produced the album's lead single Berzerk. Rubin also worked with Kanye West on Yeezus, which was released in June.

"Getting with him was like, 'Holy sh--!'" Eminem said. "As many genres of music that he is able to fuck with, he's like Yoda. I couldn't do it. You sit me there with a rock group, I don't know the first fucking thing about banging on the drums."
