The CW's Carrie Dairies continues to bring its fans through the journey of a young Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb).

In the second season's premiere, Carrie Bradshaw's (AnnaSophia Robb) late mother's purse was stolen, after she set it down on the mean streets of New York City in 1984. Carrie's purse getting snatched represents a symbolic journey that she is about to embark, according to Zap2it.

Executive producer Amy B. Harris gave the following comments:

"Losing the purse, having it stolen, it was huge for Carrie. The purse is really symbolic of Carrie on her own, launching off and creating a new version of herself in Manhattan. Obviously bringing Samantha (Lindsey Gort) into that fold is going to be a big part of how that plays out for her."

The show is based off of Candace Bushnell's novel. However, there has already been a major change from the book to the series. In the novel, Carrie meets Miranda after her purse is stolen.

Harris speculates this big change, will affect other aspects of this tale. "We started this series as a junior, not a senior in high school so that pushed off some of the meetings."

It does not seem likely that we will see Carrie's other best friends.

"We knew we wanted to bring Samantha in this season but I don't think you'll be seeing Miranda or Charlotte in the very near future."

In episode 2, Express Yourself, Samantha will meet Mouse (Ellen Wong) for the first time, and waste no time giving her new friend sex tips.

The Carrie Diaries next episode will air on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on this series.
