Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert proved themselves to be country music's current royalty at the 47th Country Music Awards.

The Boys 'Round Here singer and his Pistol Annies wife took home twin trophies on Wednesday night - one for Male Vocalist of the Year and one for Female Vocalist of the Year.

Married in May of 2011, the two performers have recently been the center of several marital strife rumors. Despite this, the pair consistently shoots down gossip with an air of humor and they are both coming off a very successful year in music and television.

Shelton and Lambert have seemingly replaced Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as country's reigning King and Queen. Although McGraw and Hill are still active in the Nashville scene - McGraw took home the CMA award for Musical Event of the Year - Shelton and Lambert are just hitting the prime of their careers.

The pair are popping up all over the music industry, both together and apart. From Shelton's work on The Voice and Lambert's inclusion in the Pistol Annies to their duel vocals in a version of Boys 'Round Here, the couple are fast becoming the buzz name couple of country.

While some of country music's most famous coupling take place within the industry, there is an extensive list those that don't. These marriages include Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams, and, of course, Johnny Cash and June Carter.
