Simon Cowell has already purchased an engagement ring and will soon propose to girlfriend/baby mama, Lauren Silverman.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that the X-Factor judge will hold off for the proposal.

"Simon's mad about her," a source told the magazine. "But I think he'll wait until after she gives birth."

Back in September, Cowell hinted that he would marry Silverman during a Ryan Seacrest radio interview.

"Let's put it this way, I wouldn't expect her to be a single mother," Cowell said at the time.

The 53-year-old recently revealed his number one choice for a name for his baby son.

"My number one choice is Simon because I like the name," he said of what he and Silverman plan to call their son. His second choice for a name is Eric, after his dad.

"His birthday is going to be very close to my dad's birthday," Cowell explained of his unborn, noting that his father, who passed away would be "very proud" and "amazed" to have a grandson.

Although the baby boy comes at a difficult time with Lauren still being married to her husband, Andrew Silverman in the wake of the baby news, Cowell said the mother of his unborn child is a good person.

"It was a surprise initially and some of the circumstances around this were very uncomfortable to say the least, but it happened and she's an incredible girl," Cowell recently confessed to Neil Fox on British radio station Magic FM.

"Then once I got used to the idea that I was going to be a dad, then I was really happy."
