Game of Thrones fans who have read the books know that season 4 will likely feature a lot of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Season 4 of Game of Thrones is adapting the third book (A Storm of Swords) in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. Assuming the fourth season adapts the events of the novel accurately, Jaime will be involved in a lot of action this season.

Jaime has finally reunited with his sister/lover Cersei (Lena Headey) and they will reignite their passion for each other. Cersei will then try to get Jaime to kill Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) after the tumultuous events of the Purple Wedding (read details on the Purple Wedding here). Jaime is less willing to do everything that Cersei tells him to do, considering the character growth he developed away from her.

Jaime decides that Tyrion is not the real culprit behind the murder at the Purple Wedding and helps him escape King's Landing, going completely against Cersei's wishes.

Additionally, Jaime will have an argument with father Tywin (Charles Dance) after Tywin tells him that he will be the heir to Casterly Rock. Jaime refuses the position, leading Tywin to once again denounce one of his sons.

Jaime also spends much of his time in King's Landing trying to prove Brienne's (Gwendoline Christie) innocence after she is accused of killing Renly. As leader of the Kingsguard, Jaime convinces all involved in the case to put aside their differences and reconcile. He eventually sends her off to watch over Arya (Maisie Williams) and Sansa (Sophie Turner).

Fans should expect most of these developments to occur within season 4 of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones season 4 is set to return in spring 2014 though a specific premiere date has not yet been scheduled by HBO.
