The 2014 Grammy nominations will be announced in just weeks and there are many songs in the running to get a nomination for Record of the Year.

The Grammy for Record of the Year is among the most coveted awards in music, awarding the best produced song of the year as judged by eligible voters. At the 2013 Grammys, the award for Record of the Year went to Gotye feat. Kimbra's Somebody That I Used to Know.

Grammy predictors are currently predicting Justin Timberlake's Mirrors as the frontrunner to be nominated for Record of the Year. Timberlake took home the award for Video of the Year for Mirrors at the MTV VMAs this year.

Not far behind Timberlake is Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell and T.I. with Blurred Lines. The controversial song was one of the biggest hits of the year, becoming a pop culture phenomenon.

Daft Punk's smash hit Get Lucky (feat. Pharrell) is expected to get a nomination as well, giving Pharrell two potential nominations in the category.

Bruno Mars' hit song Locked Out of Heaven is also expected to be nominated for Record of the Year considering his past success at the Grammys.

Rounding out the category is a relative latecomer: Lorde's Royals. The breakout hit has been the no. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks.

Other contenders expected to be in the running for Record of the Year include two Macklemore & Ryan Lewis songs (Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us), Adele's Skyfall, Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble and P!nk feat. Nate Ruess's Just Give Me a Reason.
