Kelly Clarkson is finally pregnant!

The 31-year-old American Idol winner announced the news via her Twitter account Tuesday afternoon.

"I'm pregnant," she wrote. "Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever:)"

The news doesn't come as a surprise to many as Clarkson, who married and eloped husband Brandon Blackstock in October has been telling everyone that the couple was desperately trying to have a baby.

Earlier this month, she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and hinted she was pregnant after she told Leno that she wasn't revealing any information. She even wore a dress that seemed to be hiding a baby bump.

"Are you pregnant right now?" Leno asked at the time.

Clarkson laughed and replied, "What are you saying?"

"I always get this stars that come and go, 'I'm thinking about having a baby,' and then the next week they go on Ellen and announce it there," Leno explained. "So, I'm asking you, are you pregnant? Remember, you are under oath!"

Clarkson then said, "We are not announcing anything right now. We're not, no!" She did reveal that she and Blackstock are having sex "like rabbits."

Blackstock already is a father of two children from a previous marriage--Savannah, 11, and Seth, 7. Clarkson previously said that she didn't want kids at first but changed her mind when her her stepchildren came into the picture.

"They're so great," she said. "Now I want, like, five," she told Leno.

Seems as if Clarkson got her Christmas wish, but no details on how far along she is in her pregnancy or when the baby is due.
