Many celebrities, from actors to comedians, try hosting a talk show at some point in their career, but many of them end up failing.

Though celebs like Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey have had successful careers as talk show hosts, there are many more who have failed at the task.

Alec Baldwin's late night talk show Up Late With Alec Baldwin was recently canceled by MSNBC due to the actor's offscreen behavior.

Often, the reason for a talk show's failure is due to low ratings. Recently, Kris Jenner's talk show Kris and Jeff Probst's The Jeff Probst Show were canceled because of low ratings.

Other celebrities who has suffered the loss of a talk show due to low ratings include Megan Mullally in 2006, Emeril Lagasse in 2010 and Wanda Sykes in 2009.

Some talk shows barely last a few months before being pulled from their networks. Fran Drescher and Martin Short barely made an impact with their talk shows in 2010 and 1999, respectively.

Sitcom stars Roseanne Barr and Tony Danza were able to get their talk shows renewed at least, but they were soon canceled.
