As families gather across the country to participate in whatever their Thanksgiving tradition may be, it's important to find other activities to do together, besides gather around the table and eat the largest meal of the year.

Enstars compiled a list of the eight best movies and TV specials to watch this Thanksgiving:

1. Miracle on 34th Street: Though the original 1947 version of the movies is a classic, the 1994 version is a good substitute as well. No movie can officially put everyone in the post-Thanksgiving Christmas spirit quite like this classic tale of a man who believes he truly is Santa Claus, and the people who believe in him and discover miracles can come true as a result. In the original film this role is filled by a young lawyer, while the remake focuses solely on the character of young Susan Walker.

2. Paul Blart Mall Cop: The other post-Thanksgiving event that most people get excited about is Black Friday shopping. Mall Cop takes place at a New Jersey mall on the busiest shopping day of the year. A group of thieves take a group of mall employees hostage as they rob the credit card codes from all the stores in the mall. The safety of the employees, as well as the prevention of major identity theft, all falls into the hands of mall security guard Paul Blart.

3. Home for the Holidays: Single and broke, Claudia Larson is not looking forward to reuniting with her overbearing parents and other members of her crazy extended family for Thanksgiving, especially since her daughter Kitt is staying home this year.

4. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving: Charlie Brown is forced to throw together a last-minute Thanksgiving dinner afer Peppermint Patty invited herself and her friends over to celebrate the holiday.

5. Planes, Trains and Automobiles: Those who liked the 2010 movie Due Date will know that the story that pit Robert Downy Jr. and Zach Galifianakis together was actually a re-imagining of this story from 1987, which starred Steve Martin and John Candy. Martin's character is trying desperately to make it home in time for Thanksgiving, but was banned from an airplane, making his commute even more difficult. To make matters worse, his only companion is a sloppy shower ring salesman.

6. Pocahontas: This 1995 Disney cartoon about the daughter of an Algonquin chief who teaches kindness and forgiveness not only to her own people, but to the English settlers that have come to the area in search of gold, but teaches them all about love as well. Though the story is freely adapted from the one in the history books, it reminds us all of the spirit of giving and sharing, which Thanksgiving is supposed to be about.

7. A Marathon of Friends Thanksgiving Episodes: While in  general Friends was a fantastic comedy, the Thanksgiving episodes that aired almost every year are still fan favorites year after year. Though there will most likely be one of these marathons of the episodes back-to-back on a cable syndicate or two, anyone who owns the DVD sets can just pop those in as well. For the best effect go in season order with the episodes:

The One Where Underdog Gets Away (Season 1, Episode 9); The One With the List (Season 2, Episode 8); The One with the Football (Season 3, Episode 9); The One With Chandler in a Box ( Season 4, Episode 8); The One with the Thanksgiving Flashbacks (Season 5, Episode 8); The One Where Ross Got High (Season 6, Episode 9); The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs (Season 7, Episode 8); The One With the Rumor (Season 8, Episode 9); The One with Rachel's Other Sister (Season 9, Episode 8); and finally, The One with the Late Thanksgiving (Season 10, Episode 8).

8. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: It doesn't get more classic than watching the iconic parade on NBC as it makes its way from Columbus Avenue to Herald Square. This year's parade promises performances and appearance  by Kellie Pickler, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Richard Simmons, Debby Ryan, Cher Lloyd, Gavin Degraw, The Summer Set, Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge, Miss America 2013 Nina Davuluri, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Fall Out Boy, A&E's Robertson family from Duck Dynasty, Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, Megan Hilty, Fifth Harmony, Kristin Chenoweth, Goo Goo Dolls, and of course, Santa Claus.
