After the sad news of Nelson Mandela's death spread through the world, celebrities took to social media to reminisce on the day they met the iconic figure.

The South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, who was imprisoned for 27 years and then served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, passed away on Dec. 5, 2013.
