Julia Roberts recently suggested that she might want to appear on Glee at some point within its final season.

Roberts has worked with Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy on the film Eat Pray Love in addition to the upcoming HBO film The Normal Heart. When asked if she would want to appear on Glee, Roberts seemed positive about the idea.

"Only if [Ryan Murphy] wants to take the empire down," she joked to E! News, adding, "If he came up with some funny soap opera back from the dead moment for the last vestiges of the entire series, wouldn't that be fun!"

Roberts appearing on Glee wouldn't be too out of place, even with her star power. Glee has featured the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos, Demi Lovato and Josh Groban in the past.

Some of the commenters on E! Online suggested the type of role Roberts could play. One said that it would be interesting to see her play the mother of one of the show's many characters, while another said she could be a relative of Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). Multiple commenters mentioned New York as the best place to put her hypothetical character.

Glee will only air for one more season after the current fifth season. It is possible that Murphy and company will want to pull out all the stops for Glee's final season and feature guest stars like Roberts.
