Now that actress Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are officially engaged, the Miami Heat star is giving every detail on how he popped the question to his future bride.

He proposed in the home they have been building for three months, he told The Associated Press

"Just a regular Saturday. My kids were involved in it," he said. "We asked her to marry all of us, not just me. We're a package deal, so it was cool."

Wade's youngest son, Zion, held up a sign with Union's name on it, while nephew Dahveon Morris and Wade's oldest son, Zaire, held signs reading 'Will you" and "marry us."

Wade said Union didn't realize what was happening until he got down on one knee.

The actress took to her Twitter Sunday to thank everyone for their congratulations and even joked about how her hands looked in the Instagram picture she and Wade used to announce their engagement.

She wrote, "...Im floatin! Thank you SO much for all the love, well wishes & support...And yes my hands were ashy...And yes my nails aren't done...I was truly caught off guard but happy nonetheless."

When it came to picking the 8-carat ring worth $1 million, Wade wanted to make sure it was something that fit Union's personality and character.

"I kind of know my lady. I know she's simple, but at the same time, I jus wanted the rock to kind of speak for itself and not do too much with the diamonds," he said. "I think it's a simple ring, but it's nice. It was nicely done ... it's timeless."

There is no official wedding date announced, but he said it will most likely be in September 2014.
