As 2013 comes to an official close at midnight tonight and revelers celebrate the start of 2014, an annual tradition of making New Year's resolutions has once again surfaced.

New Year's resolutions are promises people make to themselves about ways they will improve their lives in the upcoming year, with most traditional promises involving their health, financial situations and love lives.

These promises however often fail within just a few weeks of their being made, making the concept more of a joke as of late. However, it has not stopped several people from already posting their resolutions for how to make 2014 a better year on social media sites, like Twitter and Facebook.

Enstars compiled a list of eight of the most popular New Year's Resolutions being made for 2014 and included some social media posts about them:

1. Weight Loss: Every year, losing weight is the top resolution people make. USA Today says the resolution makes sense considering most are first starting to come out of a "four-week food-induced coma known as Thanksgiving and Christmas." The resolution to lose weight is once again the top priority of most as they head into 2014. While some have posted in recent days about their plans to lose weight , several companies marketed towards dieting are offering deals and advice in an effort to keep people on track.

2. Exercise More: Naturally, exercising more tends to go hand-in-hand with resolutions for weight loss, often making it the second most popular New Year's resolution:

3. Improve financial situation: This resolution is another common one, especially in an economy that has been in a slump for years with only small improvements:

CBS 12 News posted a 52-week savings challenge on its Facebook Page, encouraging those who want to improve their financial situations to partake in it. It works by depositing a set dollar amount into a bank account based on what number week of the year it is. (Week 1= $1.00, Week 2= $2.00, Week 52= $52.00 etc.) BY the end of the year, those who successfully completed the challenge will have an extra $1,378.00 in their savings accounts. It's already been shared from their page over 10,000 times, and received over 4,000 likes.

4. Get a New or Better Job: Most people tend to feel unsatisfied with their job and workplace environments, and therefore resolve to get new jobs which make them happier.

5. Quit Smoking: Another common resolution for improving health involves smokers promising to quit this year:

6. Better Stress Management: Managing stress better and enjoying life more are also common resolutions:

7. Improve Love Life: There are often many facets to resolutions about improving one's love life. While some try to make resolutions to date more or be in relationships in general, others resolve to improve the ones they're already in-whether that means by taking the relationship a step further, improving a sex life, spending more time together, or getting out of a bad situation, is up to each person's individual situation. 8. Stop Making New Year's Resolutions: Some actually resolve not to make any resolutions-either because they've found they can't keep them, or because they don't believe making improvements in their lives should wait solely for January 1st:
