Bates Motel season 2 officially has a premiere date, according to TV Guide Magazine.

The report, via SpoilerTV, states that Bates Motel season 2 will premiere Monday, March 3 on A&E. The popular show, based on the 1960 horror classic Psycho, has been gearing up for its second season by periodically releasing a series of cryptic teaser trailers.

There will be many new characters in season 2 who will come to influence the lives of Norma (Vera Farmiga) and Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore). One of those characters is George (Michael Vartan), a recent divorcee who takes an interest in Norma romantically. George's sister Christine (Rebecca Creskoff) befriends Norma and introduces her to the high society at White Pine Bay.

The most interesting character slated to appear in Bates Motel this season is Caleb (Kenny Johnson), Norma's brother. Norma revealed the details of her incestuous past with Caleb in the season 1 finale, recounting his sexual advances towards her when they were teenagers.

Johnson recently told TVLine that Norma could be lying or stretching the truth about her past with Caleb.

"He has his version and she has her version," Johnson explained. "Obviously in an episode last season, she says [her] brother used to rape [her] in high school, so that's all her son knows. But what is the real story and what's the background, nobody is really going to know."
