Glee star Lea Michele released her first music video for her first single Cannonball, from her debut album, Louder.

"OMG THIS IS SUCH A DREAM COME TRUE!!!! I hope you guys like it!!!! #CannonballMusicVideo," the 27-year-old tweeted Thursday, Jan. 9 as the video debuted.

In the video, Michele begins by singing with pained expressions on her face in an abandoned building. She then takes on a more uplifting demeanor as she stands in front of a wall of multi-colored lights.

The video has received positive feedback so far from several of her fans who follow her on twitter, as well as Glee cast member Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the show. "Cannonball video!!!...amazing," he tweeted with a smiley face and a link to the video on Youtube.

The actress and singer revealed on a Dec. 12, 2013 appearance on Ellen that the song holds special meaning for her because it helped her get through her grief after her 31-year-old boyfriend and co-star, Cory Monteith, died from a mixed drug toxicity in July.

"I explained to her how grief, you can really just get sucked into it and you can lose yourself, where if you don't actually die from it you can literally lose yourself completely, and I said to her I need to get out...he would want me to live my life, I have to do this," she recalled telling songwriter Sia.

"She said 'Oh that's so crazy because I just wrote this song, it's called Cannonball and you just said the lyrics,' and she played it for me and I just-the minute I heard the song, it lifted me up, it picked me up from everything."

Michele began working on her debut album in September 2012 and it was initially set for release in the summer of 2013. However, the date was pushed back after Monteith's death, giving Michele a chance to add not only Cannonball, but a second song for Monteith as well, titled If You Say So.

Louder will be available on store shelves March 4, and check out the Cannonball music video below.
