The first clip for the new action fantasy film I, Frankenstein debuted Friday, Jan 10 on YouTube.

The clip shows a scene with Adam (Aaron Eckhart) talking to Leonore (Miranda Otto) about possession. The scene opens with Adam talking about the archangel "Imperius."

"Imperius has found a way to summon every demon you've ever descended," Adam said in the clip.

This leaves Leonore confused and Adam goes into further detail on how Imperius plans to summon the demons.

A guard pointed out that "only the dead have no souls," and posed a question about the use of possessing a corpse. Adam responded, "There is none. Unless you can animate that corpse."

After Leonore stands up in awe over the news, Adam continued sharing why it was a concern.

"Imperius has been planning this for centuries," he said. "Victor Frankenstein just made it possible."

I, Frankenstein centers on Adam, a 200-year-old creature of Frankenstein who becomes involved in a fight to the death with two immortal clans.

Of his character, Eckhart said, "Frankenstein is an intelligent, evolved man, and that's how he is portrayed in this movie for sure."

The film is based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, who also co-wrote the screenplay.

Eckhart was previously nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical for his role in Thank You For Smoking. He starred in The Dark Knight, Battle: Los Angeles, and Olympus Has Fallen.

I, Frankenstein will be in theaters Jan. 24.
