MTV's Awkward began shooting for its fourth season Sunday, Jan. 12, and some of the cast took to their social media pages to share snapshot with fans.

Ashley Rickards, who stars as Jenna Hamilton, is new to Twitter, but didn't hesitate to post a picture of co-star Jillian rose Reed (Tamara) posing for the camera.

Rickards also tweeted about the day's shooting, saying, "Today on the set of Awkward season 4, the #awkwardaccidents involved me getting body slammed by our steady cam's spotter. I'm invisible lol!"

Reed also joined in by sharing her own pics on Instagram, including a picture with Greer Grammer (Lissa), which she captioned "First day!!!", as well as a snap with some of the other leading ladies decked out in their Palos Hills High School cheerleading gear.

"Successful day," she captioned the second photo.

  

Nikki Deloach (Lacey Hamilton) and Desi Lydic (Valerie Marks) also shared a few pics to their social media accounts.

DeLoach took to her WhoSay account to express how happy she was to be back at work. She captioned a photo featuring herself with Molly Tarlov (Sadie Saxton), Grammer, Reed and Lydic "Weee're back!! So happy the gang's back."

Lydic showed off her character's most famous wardrobe accessory on Twitter.

"Season 4 has begun. #Awkward #fannypackisback," she wrote.

Though he didn't share any photos, Brett Davern, who portrays Jake Rosati, took to Twitter to announce the season 4 premiere date to the show's fans.

"Guess what, Awkward will be back on April 15th at 10pm with a ONE HOUR premiere! #YoureWelcome #TeamJake #HappyTaxDay," he wrote.

The cast is set to be returning for their senior year on the show, something Beau Mirchoff (Matty McKibben) revealed in an interview last month.

He also revealed what exactly has happened between Matty and Jenna since the third season ended.

"I will say they don't see each other once over the summer. They go their separate ways and do their own thing. They run into each other on the first day of senior year, and everything sparks from there," he said. "Who knows what could happen over an entire summer? I think Matty and Jenna were each other's first loves, and you never really lose that."
