The Star Wars rumor mill has been firing off names left and right the past few weeks, but a new and rather unexpected actress has suddenly joined the list.

Dame Judy Dench has now been thrown into the mix, according to Big Shiny Robot, although the site is quick to remind readers that the rumor is still unconfirmed. If Dench were associated with Star Wars: Episode VII, it is believed she would take on the role of Mon Mothma.

Played by Caroline Blakiston in Return of the Jedi and Genevieve O'Reilly in Revenge of the Sith, Mon Mathma helped create the Rebel Alliance.

"The name I have heard about Star Wars: Episode VII that I hadn't even thought of until I heard this scuttlebutt, is Mon Mothma. Mon Mothma is going to be showing up in Episode VII, according to this rumor," said Bobby Roberts of The Portland Mercury, according to Big Shiny Robot. "What makes the rumor even crazier, even jucier, and even more enticing for me, should it come true, the name I've heard attached to Mon Mothma possibly showing up in Episode VII is Judi Dench. She is being looked at for Mon Mothma in Episode VII. That's the rumor I have heard. Whether that happens or not, I don't know."

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for release on Dec. 18, 2015.
