Justin Bieber was arrested for DUI and drag racing in Miami Beach on the morning of Jan 23.

The Miami Beach police announced the news via its official Twitter page on Thursday:

"#BreakingNews confirming @justinbieber has been arrested for DUI and Drag Racing more info and press release coming."

The 19-year-old singer was apprehended while drag racing, in a yellow Lamborghini, with a red car of the same make, in Miami Beach in the early hours of the morning. The pop star also failed the sobriety test he was asked to take on the spot.

The driver of the car Bieber was racing was also arrested.

Earlier during the day, Bieber was seen enjoying himself at Lil Wayne's skate boarding park in Miami. He also spray painted his initials on one of the walls of the space.

The Believe singer also instagrammed a video capturing him skating and playing ball at the park.

The pop star has recently been in the news for unruly behavior. In November last year, Bieber was accused of vandalising a wall with graffiti in the hotel he was putting up at during his Australia tour.

Earlier this month, there were also rumors of a lot of drug paraphernalia found in Bieber's home but it seems like he has been cleared of that charge, as the few drugs found at the scene belonged to Lil Za, who was arrested on the spot.

The LA police dismissed the rumors about the state of Bieber's house but they did confiscate his cell phone for investigative reasons.

"The purpose of the search warrant is to seek video surveillance or other possible evidence in the vandalism that occurred on January 9, 2014," the official report stated. "The vandalism damage is estimated by the homeowner to be approximately $20,000."
