Drew Brees isn't playing the Super Bowl, but that won't stop the New Orleans Saints quarterback from enjoying the game with everyone else.

Champion and MVP of the 2010 Super Bowl, Brees stopped by The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday to discuss the past season and who he wants to see take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Sunday.

Although the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Saints during the NFC Divisional playoffs, the 35-year-old Brees is far from a sore looser.

"I think the hard part is, the closer you get, the more it stings when you aren't able to make it all the way," Brees explained to Letterman, seemingly in good spirits. "I felt like we were playing some good football towards the end. Unfortunately we went up to Seattle and had our chances but just missed out on some opportunities."

However, Brees' sportsmanship may not extend to rooting for the Seahawks come game time. Although he didn't explicitly comment on who he would like to win in the Seattle-Denver matchup, the quarterback seemed to be leaning very heavily towards the Broncos, if only for Peyton Manning.

"I always keep those emotions kind of to myself," Brees joked when Letterman asked who he would like to see claim the title, "But I will say this - I have so much respect for what Peyton Manning has been able to accomplish, not just this year but over the course of his career. You never know how much longer he's going to play, and wouldn't this be a great way to cap off an unbelievable year and an unbelievable career."

Super Bowl XLVIII will take place this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Click the video below to see more of Brees' interview.
