In a recent interview with The Guardian Archie Panjabi spoke about working on The Good Wife and Kalinda's sexuality and ethnicity on the show.

"The level of sexuality that woman has ... it's weird. I don't intend to do it but when I play that character, sometimes there is a chemistry and I will just play off it," Panjabi told the publication. "I like the fact that she is a woman of colour and that she's bisexual. And one of the most rewarding things about playing her is that people see that's an aspect of her, which is huge for TV and film. Kalinda is Kalinda. And I think that's probably something I wanted to do without realising it. The purpose of that role is not her 'culture'. And I think after that, there are more Indian women on TV in America - I don't know about here - and it is slowly changing."

In the latest episode, We, the Juries, the two firms, Lockhart/Gardner and Florrick/Agos were forced to work together on a pending case from before Cary (Matt Czuchry) and Alicia (Juliana Margulies) left Lockhart/Gardner. Another highlight of the episode also brought Cary and Kalinda together. In the episode, Cary still seemed to be bitter about the past and misled Kalinda about a Lockhart/Gardner client so that he could nab him for he and Alicia's new firm.

The creators, Michelle and Robert King, suggested that the rest of the season would focus on Kalinda's character and also hinted at ways in which her and Cary's relationship might evolve.

While suggesting that Kalinda's story will eventually "crystalize" during this season, Michelle also spoke about the possibility of the duo rekindling old feelings for each other.

"Can they pursue each other? Can they sleep with each other and make that exist?" she said.

She went on to suggest that Cary would need to build on the qualities that first drew Kalinda to him.

"What I liked about it is that Kalinda saw a Cary that had balls and was really attracted to that. So Cary's going to want to live up to that Kalinda idea of who he is. Cary as a character is sweet, too, but he needs to harden himself," Michelle said.

The next episode of The Good Wife will air on Mar. 9 at 8/7 p.m. Central Time on CBS.
