Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's relationship may be a thing of the past, but the former costars seem to be keeping their friendship alive.

At least for the sake of their puppies.

Pattinson is currently filming for Queen of the Desert in Morocco, but the Twilight alum allegedly had a two-hour Skype session with his ex before heading overseas. They weren't alone, however. The pair's shared dogs, Bernie and Bear, also spent some time cyber-bonding with their owners.

"Kristen and Rob Skyped for two hours before he left for Morocco. Kristen knew Rob was really missing Bernie and Bear, so they all - meaning Rob, Kristen and all three dogs, even Bailey - had a Skype session," a source revealed to Hollywood Life. "Rob was talking to the dogs and telling them how much he loves them and was pretending to pet them through the computer screen."

Since Robsten called it quits during 2013, the once inseparable duo are now rarely seen in each other's company. While they didn't see each other over the holidays as Pattinson jumped between London and New York City, the pair did have a friendly meeting back in October.

Pattinson's friends, however, expressed concern in regards to the 27-year-old chatting with his old girlfriend.

"He was on a break from talking to her," a source told E! when the former lovebirds meet in October. "Rob was doing incredibly well and getting over her, she hurt him so much."

Are they destined to remain just friends?
