The cast of Under the Dome is about to get bigger in season 2.

Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY) has signed on to be a series regular on Under the Dome in season 2, according to a new report by Entertainment Weekly. Cahill is slated to play Sam, a former EMT who also happens to be the brother-in-law of Big Jim (Dean Norris). Sam will form a "deep connection" with Julia (Rachelle Lefevre), according to the casting description.

Cahill is not the only actor to join the cast. Karla Crome (Misfits) has reportedly been cast for the role of Rebecca, a schoolteacher and former army brat. This is the actress' first role in the United States, having done several British productions.

Enstars previously reported about the young schoolteacher character, who is expected to stir up trouble for Big Jim. It appears that Big Jim will have a difficult season ahead as he continues to believe he has been pre-ordained by the dome.

The season 2 premiere of Under the Dome is being written by Stephen King, who also wrote the novel on which the series is based.

"The second season is going to take us places the book never got to go, he's bringing his own twists and turns. Stephen King gave us ideas we've never imagined," said executive producer Brian K. Vaughn at the TCA press tour last month. "What's outside [the dome] comes inside."
