The mysteries of Sleepy Hollow are creeping towards the town's boarders, and Ichabod Crane will be following them into the wide world when season 2 begins.

Will Derek Choose To Save Stiles On 'Teen Wolf'?

The Fox series ended its inaugural season with a whirlwind of plot twists that left its core characters scattered across dimensions and fighting for their lives. Executive producer Mark Goffman previously warned fans "no one's safe on this show," and executive producer Roberto Orci recently teased fans with the possibility that their favorite characters will start to be feel danger in a whole set of new places.

"It is the beginning of expanding the reach of the storytelling. Also, not just for the mythology and evil coming to town, but Ichabod [Tom Mison] seeing the rest of the world is just a fascinating thing to do," Orci told TV Guide. "He's only seen [so little] of our modern society through the lens of a town that resembles his own town to a great degree, except more Starbucks. Opening it up is absolutely something we hope to do."

Sleepy Hollow has managed to avoid a cheesy rending of Crane's man-out-of-time trope, and hopefully the writers will be able to keep this up if/when the Revolutionary soldier encounters the overwhelming life of a big city.

"He's been in this town the whole time and he's adapted very well, but I'd like to see his reaction the first time he gets on an airplane," Orci said, according to TV Guide. "We were joking that he thinks, 'Oh, are we driving all the way there in this thing?' And then the plane takes off. Imagine seeing the White House and all the stuff that he never got to see that are the fruit of his labor and his sacrifice. Things like that will blow his mind."

Do you think Crane should leave the Hudson River Valley? If so, where should he go? Tell us in the poll below?
