Michael Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto welcomed twin identical girls, Ysabel and Victoria on Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, the couple is overjoyed for the healthy birth of their daughters.

"Michael and Yvette Jordan are thrilled to announce that their identical twin daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, were born Sunday, February 9, 2014 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival," a spokesman for the couple said.

The former NBA player will turn 51 years old on Feb. 17. He got engaged to Prieto in December 2011, three years after dating. Last April, the couple married in Palm Beach, Fla.

In their first official wedding photo, the couple were all smiles as they shared their first dance. Yvette wore a beautiful French silk voile corseted J'Aton Couture wedding gown with handmade silk lace and Swarovski crystals.

Reports indicated that Jordan had Prieto sign a prenuptial agreement to protect all his fortune, believed to be worth $650 million.

"Michael loves Yvette, but he won't let that interfere with his common sense - and his money - like it did before," a source said.

According to Fox News, Yvette has modeled for top notch designers such as Alexander Wang. Before launching her modeling career, she worked in her father's business. She is reported to have attended college for business management.

Jordan is already a father to two sons, Jeffrey and Marcus and a daughter, Jasmine from ex-wife Juanita Jordan. The former couple divorced in December 2006.
