With the series finale of How I Met Your Mother set to air in just over one month's time, fans are speculating about key moments in the show's final episodes.

Pivotal Meeting Between Ted and 'The Mother' Not Happening Until Series Finale Episode?

While neither Ted (Josh Radnor) or Robin (Cobie Smulders) has met the Mother (Cristin Milioti) on the show, nor has her actual identity been revealed, fans can be assured that everything will come to a close by the time the show ends. However, they shouldn't expect any major spoilers from the writers, Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, who are determined to keep major plot points a secret.

"(My first pic with the flash on seriously showed too much dialogue through the title page!  No spoilers! #HIMYM)" Thomas tweeted on Feb. 10 after posting a photo of the finale script, titled Last Forever, on his page.

To ensure that certain information, like the mother's name, isn't revealed, even key cast members don't know specific details. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Milioti revealed that she herself doesn't even know her character's actual name yet.

"I don't. I don't know if it's because they think I'm a terrible liar, but no, I have not been told that. It's very much on lockdown," she said.

Milioti also revealed that the series finale script is also being kept very secure at the moment, and that the cast doesn't yet possess copies.

"It exists, but I have not glimpsed it," she said. "There's been discussion. It's CIA-level lockdown. Our scripts are watermarked, and it feels really cool."

However, while most news about the finale is being kept under wraps, Thomas did tease one potential spoiler to TV Guide about who would get to say the very last line in the show.

He reportedly told the publication that though the finale had been decided years ago, they recently decided to give the last line to "someone you don't expect-maybe someone you haven't even met yet."

If the line does go to someone who has not yet been introduced, it could very well be a member of The Mother's family (who weren't present in the mother-centric 200th episode How Your Mother Met Me), or as International Business Times speculates, it could even be a character who ties in to the new spin-off show, How I Met Your Dad.

The publication speculates that with the announcement that Frances Ha star Greta Gerwig landing the lead role of Sally in the spin-off series, that her character could make an appearance in the final episode to comment on the current cast of characters as a way to tie the two shows together.

However if that is a possibility, it would mean that the flashback format on the new show would have the action taking place in 2030, as the entire HIMYM finale is expected to take place during that year.

How I Met Your Mother continues its final episodes on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
