CBS' How I Met Your Mother is just eight episodes away from its series finale, but fans can expect them all to be full of surprises.

In a Reddit AMA Feb. 3, show co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas answered several fan questions about the show's nine-year run, and even teased several possibilities for the final eight episodes.

Series Finale Ends Ted's Love Quest?

Several possibilities for the final episodes include tying up a bunch of loose ends that have not been answered yet, but that Bays and Thomas promised would be by the time the finale episode airs.

Two potential things Bays and Thomas promised involved the character of Robin (Cobie Smulders), and her alter-egos.

Final Scene Features Ted's Children?

When a fan asked if there would be one more appearance by Robin Sparkles before the show ended, Bays answered, "Stay tuned...people do tend to sing at weddings. Maybe not a song, but a performance isn't out of the question."

Another fan also asked about a previous allusion to Robin having a career as a bullfighter, which has yet to appear on-screen, but Thomas said "Stay tuned-we will get to it! We haven't forgotten!"

As far as Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall's (Jason Segel) marriage is concerned, they could see yet another obstacle when Lily's ex-boyfriend Scooter shows up once again.

Thomas also teased that a future episode, called Rally, will feature flash-forwards for all of the characters.

"We will see more and more flash-forwards in the remaining 8 episodes. There's an episode called Rally coming up in a few weeks were we do a whole bunch-everyone gets a flash-forward peek into the near and far future," he said.

One potential appearance fans could expect is actually seeing whether or not older Ted (voiced by Bob Saget) will be on-screen.

"Stay tuned," they said.

One thing both Bays and Thomas are remaining more tight-lipped about is how the show will end, but they are promising "a twist," that could happen on the MacLaren's set.

How I Met Your Mother returns with more all-new episodes on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
