While fans of UFC 170 were surely at the event to see female grappler Ronda Rousey compete against the likes of Sara McCann in the octagon on Saturday night, it was former WWE superstar CM Punk that caught the eye of many spectators.

Vince McMahon Meets With Disgruntled CM Punk?

Although Rousey's defeat over McCann was supposed to dominate the headlines, the presence of Punk, whose real name is Phillip Brooks, clearly had more than a handful of people buzzing.

The self-proclaimed "Best In The World" of wrestling was spotted next to UFC owner Dana White, which led many to believe the two were talking about the former potentially entertaining the thought of competing in mixed martial arts in the near future.

On Feb. 22, Ultimate Fighting's head honcho told TMZ that Punk is just "a friend and a fan. We have literally talked about wrestling or fighting or anything else work related since I've known him."

Interestingly enough, MMA standout Rener Gracie told Fox Sports on Jan. 29 that Punk has been training in mixed martial arts and felt that he had great potential if he were able to dedicate himself to the sport 100 percent.

Punk has not been seen on WWE programming since its Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Jan. 27. He reportedly quit the company over creative differences in his current storyline.

WWE owner Vince McMahon commented on the situation for the first time during a conference call with investors of his company, according to Wrestling Inc. on Feb. 20.

"He's taking a sabbatical. Let's put it that way," he said.
