There is now even more reason to believe that viewers might not see Jessica Brody (Morena Baccarin) on Homeland season 4.

Mandy Patinkin Reveals Potential Brody Return?

Baccarin has officially signed on to play the female lead in a new ABC drama called Warriors, according to new reports. Presuming the show is a hit for the network, Baccarin could be busy with the show for years on end, putting her future on Homeland even more in question.

It had previously been announced that Baccarin's role on Homeland would be dropped down to guest status ahead of season 4. With Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) dying in the season 3 finale, the purpose of the Brody family has become relatively nonexistent now that the show is moving on with new plots.

Carrie Taking Care of Baby in Season 4 as Show Reinvents Itself?

While it is still possible that Baccarin and even Morgan Saylor (Dana Brody) could come back for a future episode of Homeland, it does not seem particularly likely.

Showtime entertainment president previously said that season 4 of Homeland would be a "reset" for the show.

"We always knew we were heading towards a major reset," Nevins explained, when discussing season 3 transitioning into season 4. "The likely plan is you will see [Carrie] on the ground [in Istanbul] doing her job . . . You're going to see a different kind of story with [Carrie], and I don't know if it's going to be a one‑season story or two‑season story."

Homeland season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on Showtime.
