Homeland star Mandy Patinkin recently discussed the possibility of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) returning to the show in season 4.

Speaking with E! Online, Patinkin, who plays Saul in the series, voiced his confidence that Brody would somehow be back in season 4.

"I would say so," he said, when asked if Brody would ever be seen again. "I don't think it will be a regular occurrence, but I think it will be an emotional, occasional occurrence."

Brody memorably died in the season 3 finale after being publicly hanged in Iran. Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) watched on as the love of her life paid the price for his crimes, leaving her emotionally distraught.

Season 4 is said to be centered on Carrie as she readjusts to her new life as case officer in Istanbul, as previously reported. As she adjusts to life without Brody, she will likely be surrounding herself with her closest colleagues, according to executive producer Alex Gansa

"She gets to choose her own people. So Quinn [Rupert Friend], Fara [Nazanin Boniadi] . . . Virgil [David Marciano] and possibly Max [Maury Sterling] may come along with her," Gansa said. "We get to bring some of our familiar faces overseas."

Meanwhile, Saul will be readjusting to his own new career position as a private contractor for the CIA. While he might not have a desk at the CIA anymore, Gansa assured that he will still be an integral part of the organization.
