The actor is now expected to start filming the second season of the crime show The Fall alongside Gillian Anderson this month in Belfast.

His on-screen love interest, Dakota Johnson, arrived at the airport separately as she headed back to Los Angeles.

The book's author, E.L. James, let fans know that the show finished filming via social media when she tweeted, "And that's a wrap...," on Feb. 21.

She also posted a photo on Instagram, in which she smiled while holding a beverage and stood next to the movie's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. James captioned the shot, "One of us is drinking... It's a wrap."

Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters on Feb. 13, 2015.

The film also stars Rita Ora as Christian's sister Mia, Luke Grimes as his brother Elliot, Eloise Mumford as Anastasia's best friend Kate as well as Victor Rasuk playing her friend Jose. Jennifer Ehle will star as Anastasia's mother Carla and Max Martini will play the role of Christian's bodyguard.
