Pink took the stage at the 86th Academy Awards to honor the legendary Judy Garland with an impeccable rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

Wearing a floor-length red gown, Pink performed the classic Academy Award-winning ballad from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

Garland's three children - Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft, Joey Luft - were also present on Sunday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the iconic film.

Upon hearing that she would sing at the Oscars, Pink took to Twitter to express her excitement.

"Big news!!! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy for inviting me to perform on the #Oscars on March 2nd!! #holycow," the 34-year-old tweeted on Feb. 21.

The show's producers also explained why Pink was chosen for the special segment.

"We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time," producer Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

"She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast."
