The Winchesters may live in the Men of Letter's bunker, but Supernatural's fraternal hunters have very little interaction with the order itself.

What Is Crowley's Dangerous 'Supernatural' Addiction? Will He Compromise The Winchesters' Mission In 'Blade Runner'?

This isolation is largely thanks to Abaddon's (Alaina Huffman) 1958 massacre of the society's leading members, and as far as the Winchesters know, there are no surviving members. However, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will be getting a little help from one during "Blade Runners."

Whether or not this Men of Letters member will appear in a flashback or will actually be a flesh-and-blood, present day person is still unclear. Played by Kavan Smith, the new character will assist the boys in their quest to obtain the First Blade after Abaddon (Alaina Huffman) catches wind of what the hunters are planning.

Fans of the CW drama have encountered members of the old order once already this season during "Slumber Party," and executive producer Jeremy Carver previously promised that the series would be pulling back the veil on the society's history even more as season 9 progresses.

"We'll discover how far the Men of Letters reach back into the Winchester's family history. And they'll be a source of new characters and [storylines]," Carver said over the summer, according to the TV Guide's Comic-Con edition.
