In the wake of the announcement that American Horror Story season 4 would be set at a carnival, the FX anthology series now has an official title.

American Horror Story Season 4: Jessica Lange Plays German Carnival Troupe Owner?

American Horror Story season 4 will be titled Freak Show, according to a new Twitter post Monday by series co-creator Ryan Murphy.

Enstars previously reported on the announcement by American Horror Story: Coven writer Douglas Petrie that season 4 would be set at a carnival. Petrie was speaking on the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast about the concept, which did not have an official title at that time.

Lea Michele "Begging" To Be Cast In American Horror Story?

Murphy previously teased a few details about season 4, only revealing that it would be set in 1950 and feature star Jessica Lange using a German accent. He also said that season 4 would be similar to season 3, Coven.

"Next year will be equally as challenging, because so much of it is period and bizarre and crazy and gothic," he told EW in January. "My feeling is, if you loved this season, you'll love next season. It has the same sort of comedic tone to it."

There has also been very few cast announcements for who will appear in Freak Show. The only regular AHS actor to confirm their appearance in season 4 aside from Lange is Sarah Paulson. Fellow regular Evan Peters has said that he wants to be a new character for season 4 though he admitted that he hasn't gotten the call yet.

American Horror Story: Freak Show will premiere in fall 2014 on FX.
