It looks like some heartbreaking situations are about to happen when Psych officially goes off the air.

Psych Guest Star Chatter

On Tuesday, TV Guide posted an interview with star James Roday who appears to be upset that the show is ending, but he seems like he's trying to stay optimistic.

"Its no great mystery now that we knew we were making the last season of Psych the whole time," the show's leading star said. "I think there's a lot of love and a lot of history and a lot of goodwill between Psych and the USA Network, and it was one of those things where they were 99.9 percent sure we were finished, but nobody actually wanted to push the button."

Roday then revealed that the reason for the hesitation on ending the show was because that news would make it official.

"Nobody actually wanted to let go because once you make the press release, once you put it out there that the show is ending, the show is ending," Roday said.

As for how the last episode will go, Roday said that there will be some friendship tests as well as a good amount of emotion.

"The series finale, I think, is probably the most emotional episode that we've had just because the heart of the show is, and always has been, two best friends who go on these crazy adventures and are willing to essentially die for one another doing it," Roday said. "The finale is structured in such a way where that friendship is tested in a way that we haven't ever quite seen it before, and so it definitely has a different color and it was definitely a challenge to shoot it."

The final episode of Psych is set to air Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on USA.
