Supernatural is missing an angel.

Will Castiel Save Dean Winchester From The Mark Of Cain?

Castiel (Misha Collins) has been absent for the last three episodes, but everyone's favorite rebel angel will be back in the mix soon enough.

Thanks to Metatron, Earth is currently swarming with heaven's host and those homeless celestial beings are looking for a way back to paradise. As factions of flightless angels pop up around the globe, Castiel emerged as an unwilling leader during "Captives."

Just as the Winchester brothers have been busy handling the world's demon problems, Cas has been preparing to take the angel war to the next level.

"Cas is definitely on point and on mission in the effort to try to track down Metatron and right things in heaven," Collins told the Huffington Post. "His mission and the boys' mission will converge and they will be working together again, quite heavily. Cas is pretty involved in four of the last six episodes of the season, so we'll be seeing a lot of him."

Unfortunately, Cas' has never been a model leader. His plans always seem to end bloody despite his good intentions, and Cas is acutely aware of his past failures.

"Cas knows from personal experience that when he has a position of power, he tends to screw things up, so he's definitely gun-shy," Collins admitted to E!.
