The Boondocks premiere fans have been waiting so long for is almost here and in the meantime, a trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season gives fans a first look.

While fans were disappointed to hear that the show's beloved creator Aaron McGruder stepped away from the show this time around, the new sneak peek gives fans hope that the show will still be just as great. After all, cast favorites such as Stinkmeaner, Riley and Huey as well as good old Granddad are returning.

The sneak peek kicks off with excitement as Granddad reveals the family is forced to leave Woodcrest "forever" because they are broke after he refinanced with an adjustable rate mortgage worth millions.

Granddad of course sets out to find a job to pay off his debt. His search includes a car wash, dressing up as the statue of liberty for a tax filing agency and even an homage to 12 Years a Slave and Breaking Bad.

All hell pretty much breaks lose as Granddad desperately attempts to clear his name.

The trailer comes just days after McGruder announced that he is leaving the show to focus on his new Adult Swim program Black Jesus. He told fans via Facebook on March 27 and wrote, "As the word knows, The Boondocks will be returning for a fourth season, but I will not be returning with it...."

He opened up about the controversy he faced during the first three seasons of the show after writing the series while still in college.

"It was always done with a keen sense of duty, history, culture, and love. Anything less would have been simply unacceptable. As for me, I'm finally putting a life of controversy and troublemaking behind me with my upcoming Adult Swim show, Black Jesus."

The Boondocks returns to the small screen on Monday April 21 at 10:30 p.m. on Adult Swim. Take a look at the trailer below.
