Supernatural is nearing the end of season 9, and the Winchesters have several complex storylines to tie up before the summer.

It's not uncommon for Supernatural to make the boy's life worse during the season finale (the arrival of Lucifer, Dean being dragged to Hell, Sam jumping into the cage, the angels falling - you get the picture), but the last episode usually manages to put the final seal on that year's major plotline. This year, writers must juggle displaced angels, Abaddon (Alaina Huffman), the Mark of Cain, and the Winchester's rocky relationship.

Titled "Do You Believe in Miracles," the season 9 finale is expected to hold a few surprises.

"Everyone is telling me the finale is Huge Cliffhanger with a Big Twist Unfortunately, no one will tell me any more," tweeted S. E. Hinton, Supernatural fan and author of The Outsiders, while visiting the Vancouver set at the end of March.

The Winchester's broken bond is a major exposed nerve for the show, and one that many fans are anxious to see healed. Luckily, Executive Producer Jeremy Carver claims Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) fraternal relationship is not beyond repair.

"These brothers can say things that cut very deep, but at the end of the day, you drill down far enough through the scar tissue, you've got two guys who do want to reach out to each other," Carver said, according to TV Line. "We find ourselves in one of those situations of, who's going to make the first move? Or what's it going to take for that bridge to be crossed again? The bond of their relationship is even deeper than either of them would actually believe."
