'Reign' Spoilers: Mary Will Change In A Way That Was 'Never Seen Before' & Will 'Cost Lives?' [VIDEO]
It looks like things are about to get pretty twisted when Reign returns as Mary's power rises while being betrayed by her husband's family.
Major Character To Die Before Season 2?
In a clip of the next episode called Liege Lord, executive producers Brad Silberling and Laurie McCarthy reveal some scoop on the series, and how difficult choices will have to be made involving the country.
"In the series, we've had attention that was set up right back at the pilot, which is this tension in this romance for our characters choosing his country or her country over the other- France over Scotland, Scotland over France, that tenuous quality of alliances," Silberling said.
As Mary becomes caught in a decision, it appears that her character will develop in a certain way that will have viewers see a new side to her.
"We will now see Mary have to make a very, very specific and big choice in her leadership of choosing her country and its future or France in a specific way that we've never seen before," Silberling said.
"In a way that'll cost lives so this episode is really about the rise of Mary Queen of Scots," McCarthy said. "But it's also about the fall of her innocence."
The clip also shows random moments in the next episode, which mainly involve Mary and Francis having intense moments after Francis discovered that his family betrayed his wife.
Reign airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
