It looks like the cast of CMT's Party Down South isn't getting a huge welcome in their new filming location of Athens, Ga.

The cast has been filming their second season in the Southern city, and according to Red and Black.com, they haven't met the warmest reaction because locals are concerned about the national image Athens will receive after the show airs. The lack of a warm welcome has apparently extended to some of the town's local bars as well.

"They were actually really nice," Trevor Whiteman, the assistant manager of Boar's Head Lounge in Athens told the website. "They were just looking for people to be friendly with them. A lot of people don't like them, so they were getting kicked out of a lot of different bars before they could even get in them. So they were just happy to be here, and they spent a lot of money, so there was that."

"They got in and out within an hour," Whiteman added. "It seemed like they weren't really here to have a good time. It was more for the cameras and the show and not really to see Athens for what it really is."

Unlike other bar owners and town residents, Whiteman doesn't feel that the show filming there is a problem unless things get out of control.

"Until they cross the line, I don't see why they can't be here," he said.

Whiteman also revealed that CMT bouncers were on hand to keep the cast out of trouble when they got a little more rowdy.

"They get intoxicated to the point where they don't know what's going on. So they basically had people babysitting them all night, so that was pretty nice," he said. "Every girl that's on the show was carried out by a bouncer, unconscious. They were out, laying in a booth, asleep."

The show was previously supposed to film its second season in Pensacola Fla., but met major resistance from locals, which included the show losing a catering contract with a city business.

The premise of season one was eight young Southerners moving into a Murrells Inlet, South Carolina Vacation home to party and live together for one summer. It starred 31-year-old Josh Murray from Louise, Miss., 28-year-old Lyle Boudreaux from Lafayette, La., 33-year-old Ryan "Daddy" Richards from Orange Beach, Ala., 26-year-old Walt Windham from Frankfort, Ky., 21-year-old Lauren White from Pineville, La., 24-year-old Mattie Breaux from Gheens, La.

Season 2 begins airing Thursday, June 5, and a special preview of the new season will air right after the CMT Music Awards on June 4.
