Following last night's intense episode, Law & Order: SVU fans can finally let out a sigh of relief.

Though Olivia Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) sadistic stalker, William Lewis a.k.a "The Beast," is gone for good, there is yet another nightmare plaguing her mind.

In the upcoming installment, titled Postmortem Blues, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will face the severe consequences of having lied under oath in front of a jury while on trial for being attacked by Lewis.

In the Season 15 premiere, The Beast kidnapped, manhandled, and attempted to rape Benson. However, she defended herself before the situation could escalate any further, and ultimately beat him within an inch of his life, so severely that she fractured his skull. During the court case for the matter, Benson committed perjury by claiming he raped her and that she acted in self-defense, so Lewis is imprisoned.

Moreover, on the April 9 episode, Lewis had escaped from jail and sought revenge upon Benson, but ended up shooting himself in the head. Nonetheless, her mind is still not at ease.

On Wednesday, Criminal Minds showrunner Warren Leight told TVGuide, "She's been tormented by the fact that she lied under oath. I don't think that's part of her character."

Furthermore, in episode 21, the ramifications of Officer Benson's lies will catch up with her, and according to Leight, she will deal with personal, political, and professional repercussions. "There's an I.D. investigation, there's a grand jury and she's in a box. Because now if she goes to the grand jury and says that confession was the truth, she's on the hook for brutality, perjury, excessive force, assault, and if she goes to the grand jury and says it was a lie ... then she's lying again. And that's not something I think she can handle either," he revealed.
